I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Certified High Performance Coach (CHPC) with over two decades of experience walking alongside people through some of the most meaningful and transformative seasons of their lives.

A mother, wife, athlete, and lifelong student of human potential, my work is more than a profession; it’s a reflection of who I am. I’ve spent my life studying transformation, but more importantly, living it.


The Heart of My Work

At Optimal Life, my counselling practice is a space for healing, self understanding, and reconnection, a place where individuals, couples, and families find steadiness in the midst of life’s complexity.

My counselling approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Method principles, supporting emotional awareness, communication, and practical skill building. I work with clients navigating a range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, grief, ADHD, life transitions, and relational challenges.....

Each session is designed to meet you where you are, to help you feel seen, supported, and capable of making meaningful change. Together, we explore what’s holding you back, cultivate new tools for regulation and communication, and strengthen your ability to trust yourself and your relationships again.

Counselling is where we begin to untangle what hurts, to make sense of your story, understand your patterns, and reconnect with your sense of agency and possibility. It’s where healing begins to take root and life starts to feel whole again.


Healing as the Foundation, Not the Finish Line

Through years of clinical practice, I’ve learned that healing is not the end of the story, it’s the threshold. Eventually, we are called to rise, not only to repair what’s been broken, but to build what’s possible. To move beyond survival into alignment, energy, and purpose.

That is where Optimal Life Performance, my coaching practice comes in.

Coaching helps us expand.

The bridge between the two is where transformation becomes sustainable.

Trained by Brendon Burchard and the High Performance Institute, my coaching framework is research based and neuroscience informed, focusing on six key areas of high performance: Clarity, Energy, Courage, Productivity, Influence, and Purpose.

Many of my clients begin with counselling at Optimal Life, and when they reach a place of emotional steadiness and self awareness, they choose to continue their journey through Optimal Life Performance, where the focus shifts from healing to creating, from managing life to mastering it.

This integrative pathway allows for a seamless transition between emotional recovery and purposeful growth, helping clients live in alignment, with more connection, presence and overall sense of aliveness.


A Personal Note

I know what it feels like to hold it all, to care deeply, achieve greatly, and still feel stretched thin. I’ve walked through burnout, overwhelm, perfectionism, and people pleasing, and I’ve rebuilt my life from a place of alignment, clarity, and grounded freedom.

That’s why this work matters so much to me. It’s not just practical theory, it’s lived experience turned into practice.

Whether we begin with counselling or bridge into coaching, my mission remains the same: to help you reconnect with who you are, rise into your potential, and build a life that finally feels like it fits.

Optimal Life is where healing begins, a space to slow down, understand your story, and rebuild from the inside out. It’s where awareness turns into acceptance, and acceptance becomes the foundation for lasting change. Here, we focus on emotional regulation, communication, connection, and self trust, the essential work of coming home to yourself.

Optimal Life Performance is where that inner work expands into purposeful action, aligning mindset, energy, and performance so you can live, lead, and create from alignment and authenticity. It’s about translating healing into growth, self awareness into impact, and potential into practice.

Together, they form a full spectrum path, from healing to thriving, from surviving to creating, from self understanding to self actualization.

Optimal Life Jon Kempton Bio Image

Jon Kempton

Jon has worked in law enforcement for the past 21 years spending his time in patrol, the Emergency Response Team and Dog Squad. In those positions Jon has held team leader roles that required him to build lesson plans, mentor new team members and teach hundreds of hours of law enforcement skills to others. Jon previously owned a local Cross-fit affiliate where he programmed workouts for individual and group athletes as well as coached hundreds of athletes including a large majority that work in the first responder community. Jon has always had a passion for fitness that spans back to his days in high school where he would show up at the gym every morning at 6 am before school to open the weight room and get his training time in before class. Jon has experimented with various training modalities in the past 25 years and draws on that lifelong experience when building training programs for himself and others.....

Jon has also developed the unique skills and passion to coach and mentor others through his experience at work and in owning his gym. Through experience Jon has discovered the importance of focusing on fitness, nutrition and mindset in order to find the optimal health required to work in the demanding positions he has held. Having the personal experience of balancing a lifetime of shift work with raising a young family Jon and Heather have discovered a path that have allowed them to still focus on their own optimal health while still ensuring that family is at the forefront of their lives. Jon is excited to be able to share his experience and help coach other first responders down the path of optimal fitness, nutrition and mental well being.
